Femi Adebayo’s Agemo is unrelated to the revered deity called Agemo in Ijebu

According to MC Ejire, unlike the warmonger Agemo in Jagun Jagun, the Ijebu Agemo is a god associated with peace and tranquillity.

He said:

“The Ijebu Agemo is a deity known to be for fertility and protection, it is one of the most revered deities in Ijebu as it was believed to cure infertility and give protection to both old and young. The depiction of Agemo in Jagun Jagun is that of a warmonger, war-hungry and bloodthirsty monster, this could not be in any way associated with the Ijebu god of fertility called Agemo.”
