“After 11 Years”: Woman Finally Welcomes Child in Marriage After Allowing Husband to Take 2nd Wife

Mwalimu Wesley Kiplagat and Madam Jane Kirui are over the moon after welcoming baby Natalie Jelimo into the world.

Kiplagat and Jane got married in 2012

It has been 11 excruciatingly painful years for the Emurua Dikir couple, as they have been going from one hospital to another looking for a child, to no avail.

“We got married in 2012, and she later went to college. After coming back, we started looking for a baby, but she never got pregnant,” said Kiplagat.

“After some time, people started calling her barren, and she became a laughing stock in the area. My support for her never wavered; we are best friends,” Kiplgat told Kenyan widely read media TUKO. co.ke in an interview.

According to Kiplagat and Jane, they were very intentional about looking for a child, and they went to the big hospitals, the last one being Tenwek Hospital in Bomet County.

“At Tenwek, she was told that she underwent an ultrasound then the two were subjected to tests, and they were told that she was unable to have a child,” said Kiplagat.

Disappointed, the dejected pair returned home and started on traditional treatment for the condition.

After some time, they met a new doctor in the area. Kiplagat suggested they see him, but his wife was sceptical.

“She even thought that I did not want to take her to the big hospitals anymore,” said the teacher.

They eventually visited the doctor at his small clinic with previous reports from other doctors.

Kiplagat is now the father of two

“He told us he treats, but it is God who heals; my wife was given an injection as part of her treatment, and she started vomiting.

“During the New Year worship service at African Gospel Church, we prayed and our pastor said we place the matter before God,” shared Kiplagat. My wife later complained of feeling unwell and we later discovered she was pregnant. I named the baby Natalie after my favourite student in school,” gushed Kiplagat.

Kiplagat is now a father of two; in June 2023, he got a baby boy after his wife asked him to marry another wife since she wasn’t falling pregnant.

“Initially, they lived in the same house since I had not built a house for the younger wife,” said the now polygamous man.

“God’s time is the best; I am very happy; very grateful to God because we have been looking for a child for a very long time,” he said.
